On Feeding on Productivity & Other Life Hacks

I HAVE BEEN THERE COUNTLESS TIMES

“What can make my life easier?” “How can I hack my way in studying this material?” “How can I spend less time in doing this?” “IS THERE A WAY THAT I CAN SKIP THROUGH SOME THINGS TO GET THIS DONE?”

As a result, I spend hours and hours on internet articles and blog posts about “life hacking” that instead of spending *that time frame* on actually working on my goals for the day, I am “thoughtfully” browsing  the internet for random articles.

As Youtube Icon FightMediocrity has said, “It’s like telling your engineer to not worry about the foundation of the building and ask him WHERE CAN WE FIND THE MAGIC BRICKS THAT WILL FLOAT IN THE AIR?”

Everything requires a PROCEDURE. It takes time to do something. The more complicated, the more exquisite the outcome you expect something to be, the LONGER the time it SHALL require to accomplish it. Instill that in your mind next time you ATTEMPT to find a “hack” to make things simpler for your lazy ass.

Tagaytay & Batangas

I’ve always felt a partiular jealousy when other provinces in CALABARZON are getting featured and Rizal isn’t one of them. I think Rizal Province has sooo much undervalued potential unlike its nearby provinces. But I would say that these two places near Manila are one of best places to be if you just want to chill and have a nature trip. Perfect for this upcoming long weekend!

Of Being 16, On Friends, On Books

While I was scanning for clothes at some store, a group of teens went inside. After a while I heard someone say, “Wow! Muka ka nang Dauntless!” (Wow! You now look like a Dauntless!”) My ears stinged, not out of jealousy for the Dauntless look (Refer to Divergent) but most likely out of curiosity. “Grabe kamuka mo na si Tris!” (“You look like Tris!”)

I don’t know what I felt- a mixture of hope, curiosity and competition, but back when I was 16 I was reading Romeo and Juliet for the feels of it and none of my girl friends fan girl with me.

Good to know some kids read decent literature these days. I see some hope for this generation.

Shakes My Head

While I was in a commuter van bound for work, this guy was tugging the left side of my chest trying to hook whatever article of clothing lying underneath my office blouse.

I took a good long look at this face for recognition and sensing my cognizance of his lasciviousness, he poised himself and folded his hands at his lap.

I was tempted to make a scene there, but I digressed. Instead, I took my phone, made sure he was looking real good at it while I type,

“The Human Centipede? Was inspired from trying to figure out a punishment for child molesters. Maganda din siguro sa mga rapists.”

Stoic as he was, he continued breathing normally beside me.

As for me, I crossed my arms and found a sitting position wherein he can’t touch me and when one passenger alighted I fenced my bag between him and I and glared at him for a minute.

Because unless you EXPRESSLY say or act that YOU DONT WANT THAT, the creep will continue whatever he’s doing thinking, “hey she’s okay with it”.

Please do not let fear, pride, intimidation run through your head at times like this! Call him (or her) out and make a scene. Because you will regret it if you did not fend for youself.

Some Habits of Happy Couples | PositiveMed

I was browsing through positivemed from Lemon Water Benefits to How To Prevent Your Boobs Sagging (it’s interesting), I stumbled upon this:

Some Habits of Happy Couples

Funny thing about it is that a single remarkable line struck me like lightning. “Its not only about approaching the other, but being approachable as well, trying consciously not to build walls.

Well that is one thing I am good at and terribly failed my relationships. (Sorry guys :s) I think the only people I am truly open to are my parents, my best friend, and a close knit HS friend. I have always been grateful for them but when I think about it now, I am responsible for keeping them “happy” too. The relationship we have takes conscious effort to keep them happy.

Well, I should engrave this to my mind when the good guy comes around. ♥
